Reference from No.469 violin customer

Date: 4/18/2016, Read: 2509 times

I have just received the reference from the customer who ordered the no.469 violin and bow, I am very happy:

   Hello Master Bai,

Last weekend I had good chance to take into more deeper look on the Violin.

The Violin Built Quality is superb. Little bit Darker than your Photo but still it has a very deep Brownish color which gives a character to the Violin. Purfling could be little bit thicker but it was good to see a very detailed work. Scroll beautifully carved. Overall balance looks great.

Sound is very deep with a mellow voice in the lower ends. The Violin reacts fast to each stroke and the tone varies by its player. My kids teacher was quite impressed by the Violin. They say that as it is a new one it has this new tone characteristics. But given the current sound (which is good), the Potential that this Violin can produce in the future will be very high. They say that for the money I paid it is a very cheap buy. And when I played, it is better than any 3/4 I have checked here in HK at the same price range. It is very difficult to find a good sounding 3/4s in the Market as these Violins are for Educational Purposes. So I had no option but to order for a new Violin to have a good one. And am happy with my Choice.

Bow, color wise it is a bit red-ish to me. Unusual as I had never such kind of colored Bow in the past. Built quality details are fabulous. Very impressive bow. The Bow Hair at first looked to me too much slippery but after applying Resin several times it was good to go. The Bow Curve is little bit high in the Heads and goes down to the middle which makes the Bow Stiff. But for Maneuvering the Bow the Stiffness helps and the speed to control the bow is very good.

Overall the best thing is that my Kid loves the Violin.
Do hope she preserves it nicely and inherit it in a well shape to her younger sister.

And for my last word... whether the Violin is good or not is decided by the Customer not the Maker. But for this time I have to admit that this Violin is Excellent!!

   Best

   Brandon
